Who does OU softball play next in Women's College World Series? Full NCAA bracket update
NORMAN — In late April, OU softball swept Texas in a three-game series at Love's Field.
Now, the Sooners and Longhorns will face off in the Women's College World Series.
OU will take on Texas at 2 p.m. Saturday at Devon Park on ABC.
The Longhorns knocked off Florida 3-0 Thursday, while Ella Parker's three-run walk-off home run gave the Sooners a 4-3 edge over Tennessee.
The four-time defending WCWS champion Sooners are in the WCWS for the ninth consecutive time — the second-longest streak of all-time behind Arizona's record 16 consecutive appearances from 1988-2003.

In Gasso's first five seasons at the helm of the OU program, the Sooners reached the NCAA Regional finals four times and won their first-ever conference title. Something vast was happening in Norman, even if the rest of the country had yet to notice.
On the West Coast, the Pac-10 had dominated the world of collegiate softball. The conference's reputation primarily stemmed from the endeavors of a pair of juggernauts in UCLA and Arizona. From 1982 to 1999, either the Bruins or the Wildcats took home the national title a combined 14 times, including a streak of 10 consecutive titles from 1988 to 1997.
In Gasso's first five seasons, OU posted a record of 1-12 against those two programs. The Sooners had every reason to be intimidated by UCLA and Arizona.
But after five seasons under Gasso's tenacious leadership, they weren't.
"I had a team that was absolutely fearless, and that's what was fun about it," Gasso recalled of her 2000 Sooners. "They had zero panic in them. They were afraid of no one."
The squad stormed to a 55-6 record in the regular season and put the softball world on notice with a win over Oregon Express in

Patty Gasso and Oklahoma softball enter unfamiliar territory on June 1 at the 2025 Women’s College World Series.
The No. 2-seeded Sooners are facing elimination at the WCWS when they take on No. 16 Oregon at 7 p.m. ET from Devon Park in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Winners of four straight national championships, Oklahoma needs to beat the Ducks and then pick up two more wins on June 2 to advance to the championship series.
Oklahoma enters the day after falling 4-2 to No. 6 Texas on Saturday in the winner's bracket. The Sooners faced an elimination game last year, albeit in the semifinals against Florida, but picked up the wins needed to advance.
Oregon is coming off a 6-5 extra inning win over Ole Miss in an elimination game on Friday. The Ducks opened the double-elimination tournament with a loss to No. 9 UCLA.
