nutanix conference 2025

This year again, I was lucky enough to be invited, due to my status as Nutanix Technology Champion, to the annual event organized by Nutanix: .NEXT 2025!

Heading to Washington DC!

Every year, .NEXT moves to a new continent. Last year, Europe hosted the event in Barcelona, Spain. This year, Washington DC, United States of America, has been chosen to host the event from May 7 to 9, 2025.

This is my second trip to the United States (the first was during NTC Tech Connect in San Jose), so I decided to take advantage of the opportunity to spend an extra day as a tourist. It’s Zero Day!

A Relaxing Journey

The journey from my home in France to Washington, D.C., was relatively smooth. First, I took the TGV from Orange to Lyon on May 5th so I could sleep at the airport and be there the next morning.

May 6th, early 7am, baggage check-in at 8am and takeoff at 10am after passing through all security checks without incident. Landing in Dublin at 11am local time, 1h30 of transit, just enough time to pass through US border control before boarding my transatlantic flight. 8 hours of flight, 3 movies (Top Gun Maverick, Deadpool 2 and finally Deadpool and Wolverine), a me

Last week, I had the pleasure and privilege of attending the Nutanix .Next conference in Washington, DC, a city renowned for its monuments. For a several days, it became a beacon of innovation in IT infrastructure. It’s always nice to expend a few days in DC– growing up there, I almost took for granted how much there is to offer in that city.

This year marked my seventh attendance at .Next, and each time, I am reminded why I continue to repay . Over 5,000 customers and numerous partners gathered under one roof, not merely to discuss technology, but to connect, learn, and grow collectively.

This conference is more than discussions about product lines or the latest features, it highlights what Nutanix has become: a platform, an ecosystem, and a community with a concentrate on mode

Day 2 of Nutanix .NEXT opened with the keynote from Lee Caswell (SVP Products and Solution Marketing) and Thomas Cornely (SVP Product Management) reflecting on the announcements from the first day and dug deeper into four key areas including demos.

Modern Hybrid Cloud

Joined by Laura Jordana (Director, Technical Marketing) to lead through some demos we were able to see first hand Omnissa with AHV Support connecting to a Prism Central! (coincidentally, Citrix + Nutanix have just announced this same via Prism Central capability too) This should provide excellent multi-cluster capabilities without having to have manually worry about individual hosting connections.

Laura walked through how to add a Dell PowerFlex ‘external storage‘ to an existing Nutanix HCI cluster, and showed a sneak peak of how Pure Storage will be configured in a similar UI, just a different drop down from the ‘external storage wizard‘. Does this pave the way for other external storages? Laura also explained that there was a best practice to have a separate virtual switch for storage, worth making sure you have 4 NICs in any nodes you may want to use external storage on lat
