Next Level Racing’s original F-GT cockpit remains one of their most popular sim racing rigs. The F-GT Lite looks to fill the gap below the F-GT by utilising similar design philosophies while introducing much more budget-friendly focused elements. I’ll find out in this review whether these changes and tweaks make this a go-to budget sim racing cockpit.

What is the Next Level Racing F-GT Lite?

Next Level Racing markets their F-GT Lite as their first portable sim racing cockpit. While this is true, I would much

Wheel Stand vs Playseat Challenge vs Next Level Racing F-GT LITE

"...Would I like a DOF Actual world H3...absolutely... "

Couldn't agree more. Of course, I would want to have the best of the best for immersion, butpurchasing the Playseat
totally killed the buying impulse of other "fancier" stuff for me. Well, temporarily...for now...I consider.

After rewatching Barrys video of the mentioned F-GT, you can see at around the 36 minute mark, he has to improvise
to get a more or less fixed position on the setup. That is exactly what I had before, when I was "deskracing". Although
I even purchased braking casters for my chair, the chair still swivels ever so slightly when driving. This might seem
exaggerated, but with the Playseat that goes away and (for me) makes a large difference in feel. In proof, this is one of
the first things I noticed.

Edit:
Just remembered one more thing. Due to the construction of the seat and given the strength of the force feedback/wheel,
forces will occasionally be transferred through the tubing into the seat (like curbs for example), which is some caring of
a poor man's tactile feedback (or SOP if you will). I can say,

Review: Next Level Racing’s $300 Formula Lite Pro living room-friendly racing cockpit [Video]

Expanding its affordable, foldable sim-racing cockpits line-up, the Next Level Racing Formula Lite Pro comes in at just $300. It’s designed to pack down and be easily stored with all of the sim-racing hardware still attached. But does it provide the strength and comfort needed for long gaming sessions? Be sure to hit the video below to find out.

The Formula Lite Pro was designed with a few things in mind. It’s meant to be foldable and easy to store when not in use. It’s also very affordable for a cockpit at just $300. The support straps enable the “Pro” addition to the name by supporting wheelbases with up to 10nm of torque.

This seems directly aimed at console gamers who want to use a cockpit in their living room on a TV but can’t always leave it set up. Once you’re done or when needed, it can be packed up and stored in the corner of a room or even a closet.

Design

Next Level Racing has taken many features of its other affordable, foldable cockpits, the GTLite, F-GT Lite, and GTLite Pro, and adapted them to the Formula Lite Pro. At the core o

I’ve been a fan of the Gran Turismo series from the very beginning. I wore out my original GT disc on the PlayStation and continued the series as the PS platform evolved over the years. Like I a lot of enthusiasts, it’s where I learned about all those cool obscure cars like the Pikes Peak Suzuki Escudo. I actually credit a random invite to compete in the 2019 Gran Turismo Pro-Am (as an “Am”) as the reason that I am currently contributing to this site. I met a grumpy Polish guy named Kamil and we hit it off at the event, and…yes he beat me. It was such a devastating loss that I switched over to Forza Horizon for a few years, I don’t like to talk about it.

Horizon is a blast, but I did miss realistic racing, having done some track and autocross stuff (IRL) before. I considered doing a PC-based iRacing setup, but honestly I don’t have the time or patience to deal with the complexities of PC Gaming, as good as it might be. So, I decided to get back into Gran Turismo, acquiring a (recently available again) PS5 and immediately downloading Gran Turismo 7. After a week or two of using the (rather excellent) controller, I decided to elevate thi

The Next Level Racing Formula Lite Pro cockpit is an all-in-one sim racing cockpit that on paper, is perfect for me. It sits you in a very reclined formula driving position, can support direct drive racing wheels up to 10Nm, and folds up for relatively easy storage at the end of a long race session.

As someone who is always constructing and deconstructing my own sim racing setups due to reviewing different ha
