New Alfa Romeo Stelvio: Everything We Know
The new Alfa Romeo Stelvio is one of the most highly anticipated new vehicles of the next few years. Between the many teasers and patent images, and the imminent debut date—which should be late this year or early in 2026—the next iteration of Alfa's mid-size SUV is on the minds of enthusiasts everywhere.
And how could it not be? The next Stelvio aims to give Alfa Romeo a fresh start, an heir to an SUV that, frankly, was never as successful as its German counterparts, like the Audi Q5, the BMW X3, and the Mercedes-Benz GLC. With this new generation, though, that could change.
Before the new Stelvio debuts, though, here's everything we know about the upcoming Italian SUV.
What Will It Look Like?

Patent images gave us an early look at the next Alfa Romeo Stelvio, but they should still be taken with a grain of salt. Those images may not be entirely indicative of what the final production version could look like, even though they are well-detailed.
The new Stelvio will remain fairly faithful to the design of the current generation, with a standard roof shape sloping gently towards the rear. Don't worry, this won't
- Alfa Romeo’s next-gen Stelvio will debut later this year with electric and hybrid options.
- The premium SUV will be a clean-sheet design, with fresh styling and more technology.
- Quadrifoglio might keep the outgoing model’s twin-turbo V6 for a performance edge.
The clock is ticking for the debut of the second-generation Alfa Romeo Stelvio, expected later this year, and not a moment too soon. The current model has been showing its age for a while now, and a fresh update in design, technology, and an EV powertrain option is exactly what it needs.

Although Alfa Romeo has yet to release official images, we have already gotten a glimpse of the new SUV through patent filings. Now, independent renderings are giving us an even better idea of what to expect from the next-generation Stelvio’s exterior.
The illustrations come courtesy of digital artists Theophilus Chin and Nikita Chuyko for Kolesa, both well-known for producing impressively accurate previews of upcoming production models. Their latest work is based on earlier spy shots and recent patent drawings, with a f
After the first leaks unveiled a few days ago, the future Alfa Romeo Stelvio continues to be the talk of the town. This time, the Italian SUV shows itself in a new light: in color! Thanks to recently revealed patent images, several artists and designers have been quick to imagine what the new model might look like, with interesting realism.
From early leaks to colorful interpretations
A few days ago, together we discovered the first images of the new-generation Stelvio. Patent images, sharper than the traditional camouflaged spyshots, already revealed numerous design evolutions: a new triangular light signature at the rear, an imposing scudetto at the front, and above all a more fluid silhouette.
But where these images were still "raw", several talented illustrators took over to bring the Stelvio to life in color.
Three visions of the new Stelvio
On Instagram, The Rubber Therapy faithfully applied color directly to the patent images. The aim: to respect the official proportions and lines as closely as possible, while offering a first concrete idea of the SUV dressed in its body shades.
For its part, Enhance_Cars has chosen to recreate an entire illustration based on th
Next-Gen Alfa Romeo Stelvio Snapped For The First Time
Earlier this week, we learned that Alfa Romeo was making a big turn with the replacement for its Stelvio SUV. Instead of going entirely electric, a new gas engine - likely as a PHEV - would be going under the hood of the next-generation model. Now, the CarBuzz spy photographers have snapped the new Stelvio for the first time.
The Italian crossover was in Sweden for cold weather and winter testing. The season is almost at an end, even that far north, but automakers will use every minute they can to try and make sure their vehicles are up to snuff. Especially when they're going to be revealed later this year and on sale by the end of the next winter season.
Alfa has gone far beyond what we normally see for vehicle camouflage on this one, truly working hard to keep the styling secret for now. The strange lines you see on the tops and the bottoms of the doors are add-ons to the real panels. Most likely made of foam, when placed under the wrap they almost completely mislead you as to what the car will look like.
It can't hide the proportions, though. This SUV shows its electric bones underneath by way of that very long whee
