When is the next full moon in florida

Will I be able to watch the lunar eclipse from Florida? Weather conditions for March 13

  • The blood moon lunar eclipse will begin on March 13 and end March 14.
  • A lunar eclipse is when the sun, rock and Earth align allowing for the moon to pass into Earth's shadow.

A lunar eclipse will be visible across the U.S. beginning late on March 13. The celestial occurrence is called a blood moon because of its reddish hue.

Unlike a solar eclipse, gear such as exceptional glasses or filters isn't necessary for viewing. For the most part, you just need to look up to the sky to see the moon as the eclipse takes place.

Here's what to know about the lunar eclipse and weather conditions on the Treasure Coast.

When is the lunar eclipse 2025?

The total lunar eclipse will be March 13 and Pride 14. On the Treasure Coast, the eclipse's phases will initiate, peak and end around these times, according to Time and Dine AS:

  • Penumbral — when the rock moves through the Earth's shadow — will begin at 11:57 p.m. March 13.

The next full Moon will occur on September 7, 2025 at 2:09 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (11:09 a.m. Pacific). 2025 is one of those unique years when the September full Moon is known as the Corn Moon rather than the Harvest Moon. (October’s full Moon on October 6, 2025 receives the coveted title of Harvest Moon this year!) This switch occurs approximately every 2-3 years on average, though the last October Harvest Moon occurred in 2020. “Corn Moon” Name Meaning

Many American Indian tribes named September’s full Moon in honor of the corn harvest. The Abenaki of the Northeast United States refer to September’s Moon as the “Corn Maker Moon.” The Pueblo and Zuni of the Southwest call it “Moon When the Corn is Taken In” and “Corn is Harvested Moon,” respectively.

Note: Times listed are Eastern Standard (or Eastern Daylight when appropriate).

What is the September full moon called?

September's moon is known as The Harvest Moon

The "Harvest Moon" is one of the best known names for a full moon. However, don't assume that September's full moon is the actual Harvest Moon: it's a bit more complicated than that. It's not always in September, as the Harvest Moon is the full moon closest to the Autumn Equinox (around September... read mo

2025 Full Moon calendar: When to see the Full Moon and phases

    • A Full Moon occurs when the Earth is between the Sun and the Moon.
    • The Moon's orbit creates different phases, including a Full Moon.
    • Full Moons have traditional names, like the Sturgeon Moon.
    • The 2025 Full Moon schedule shows dates and times for each Full Moon.

The phenomenon of a Full Moon arises when our planet, Earth, is precisely sandwiched between the Sun and the Moon. This alignment ensures the entire side of the Moon that faces us gleams under sunlight. Thanks to the Moon’s orbit around Earth, the angle of sunlight hitting the lunar surface and being reflected back to our planet changes. That creates different lunar phases.

The next Full Moon will be the Corn Moon, which occurs at 2:09 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2025.

We’ll update this article multiple times each week with the latest moonrise, moonset, Full Moon schedule, and some of what you can see in the sky each week.

Here’s the complete list of Full Moons this year and their traditional names.
